Appointments

Your Path to Comprehensive Paediatric & Adolescent Care

Appointment Types
At CAYA DS, we are dedicated to providing expert care for children facing developmental challenges. Our developmental paediatrician specialises in diagnosing and addressing a wide range of developmental difficulties, including:

Face-to-face Appointments
These in-person consultations allow our clinicians to directly assess and interact with your child. We consider them invaluable for comprehensive care.

Remote or Outreach Clinics
We recognise that distance or unique circumstances may make it challenging to attend in-person appointments. We are continually exploring options to bring our services closer to you through remote or outreach clinics.

The Appointment Process

Thank you for choosing CAYA DS for your child’s healthcare needs. To ensure a smooth and efficient booking process, please take note of our booking policy outlined below:

1.

Initial Contact

Concerned parents are required to initiate the booking process by emailing our clinic at info@caya-ds.com.au, providing details of their concerns for the child’s initial assessment. The admin team will review the information provided and determine the appropriateness of our services for the child or young person.

2.

Eligibility and Fee Structure

Once the initial information is reviewed, our admin team will email the family to confirm eligibility and provide details of the fee structure.

3.

Confirmation and Documentation

If the family decides to proceed, they will be sent our clinic policy, registration form, and consent form. To secure a booking, a non-refundable booking fee will be required. This fee will be subtracted from the initial consultation fee. The booking fee is to be paid through Tyro, our preferred payment method.

Important Notes

The booking fee is non-refundable and is deducted from the total fees.

The prepayment for the assessment is essential to secure the appointment and must be completed before the scheduled date.

Failure to submit the required documents within the specified timeframe may result in the rescheduling of the assessment.

5.

Prepayment

Prepayment for the assessment is mandatory and should be completed using Tyro.

4.

Information Collection

Booking dates, along with a parent and teacher questionnaire, will be emailed to the family once the booking is confirmed.

Families are requested to complete and submit the questionnaires, along with any relevant reports from schools and therapists and a GP referral two weeks prior to the scheduled assessment.

For urgent referrals, please make sure your doctor has clearly marked the referral as critical and has spoken directly to one of our doctors by calling our clinic to clarify the nature of medical urgency.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the booking process, feel free to contact our admin team at info@caya-ds.com.au. We look forward to providing exceptional care for your child at CAYA DS.

Telehealth Services

We understand that circumstances, such as geographical distance or health concerns, may make in-person appointments challenging. That’s why we offer telehealth services, ensuring that quality care is accessible from the comfort of your home.

How Telehealth Appointments Work:

Healthcare that can be provided using a phone, computer or tablet is telehealth. This includes services like consultation, medication review, prescription, and education. Please speak to our admin staff to understand how to claim Medicare or private health fund rebates on telehealth.

Outreach Programs

At CAYA DS, we are passionate about extending our services to special schools and other educational settings. Our outreach programs are designed to bring expert care and support directly to children who need it most.

For Special Schools

We collaborate with special schools to offer specialised services within their premises, ensuring that children in these environments receive the care and attention they deserve.

Targeted Support: Our outreach programs address the unique challenges faced by students in special schools, providing tailored solutions.
